Department of Botany
The department of Botany in Government Pt. Devi Prasad Choubey College, Saja Bemetra (C.G.) was established . Graduation level classes (B.Sc.) are being conducted in Botany Department. The Main Vision of the Botany department is to conduct authentic research, teaching and outreach on the pattern and processes of life with a focus on plants and their environments.
Our Mission is to foster an environment of excellence by attracting and supporting the outstanding students, faculty and staff dedicated sustain our vision. We focus on enable predictive understanding of plants at their local regional and global scales.
Basic Aim of the course is:-
To provide an advanced understanding of the core principles and topics of Botany and their experimental basis to enable students and acquiring a specialized knowledge by means of Lecture series and subject oriented practicals and projects.
It will impart in depth understanding of basic aspects of Plant Science pertaining to industrial applications.
It will equipped the students with the knowledge of Plant Taxonomy, Plant Anatomy, Embryology, Economic Botany, Genetic engineering, Ecology, Genetics Bioanalytical techniques, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biostatics and Computer Applications.
Upon completion of this course students will be able :
Ø Ø To acquire, articulate, retain and apply specialized language and knowledge relevant to plants.
Ø To understand the complete picture about the taxonomical classification of plants.
Ø Ø To communicate scientific concepts, experimental results clearly both verbally and writing.
Ø Ø To develop idea of role of plants in ecosystem and their impact on environment.
